One other way is to use TMUX and it's -d option.
It's very very handy for running multiple terminal sessions and swapping between them or splitting a terminal screen into windows.
Note if you use @neilgl method (a perfectly good one) then you can follow the output using the tail command and it's -f (to follow) option.
