OK strange.
i have rpimonitor installed since the beginning, and yesterday, i saw that it said there were several updates on the raspberry pi (i had some a full suite of updates when i first set it up a couple of days ago, so i was surprised there were more updates). So i did the updates, and so far 22 hours later, there has not been ANY usb disk disconnects. dmesg log is totally clean, and everything seems to be running fine. I did not add any software other than doing the sudo apt-updates yesterday... I wonder if something was fixed?
if this continues, i'm going to count my blessings and become a happy Pi5 user!![:)]( "Smile")
