I don't think is the reason of latency.I ever use rolling camera through VNC，its responds not so bad actually.Running through VNC is a bad idea, it adds a huge amount of latency to the camera output. Consider that the camera software displays on to the desktop. But VNC then has to capture that image, encode it, send it over the network, decode it then display it at the other end. On an image changing at 30 or 60 times a second...
Do you have the same problem with a directly attached HDMI monitor?
