As 6by9 reminded me after I fell into the same h264 trap:
"An H264 elementary stream has no timestamp information for each frame (that is normally stored in the container, eg MP4, MKV, etc)"
So VLC shows just the one frame...
As it says in camera documentation, this produces an mp4
