You might find it helps to have a test image with 1-pixel borders of different colours, so you can see if pixels are being replicated, inserted, or dropped. For example, if the source is a black square with red on the left border and blue on the right then you expect blue to be followed by red with no gap.
Leaving your test image as it is, try modifying the driver to add or substract one from the width value that is programmed into the hardware.
