Networking and servers • Re: Ideas for controlling a Raspberry Pi 5 via Android App

Just to hang to my non-Bluetooth solution a little longer ...

The OP didn't include whether it was to control a Pi5 locally or remotely. Using a network solution allows control notionally from anywhere on this planet while Bluetooth is very local and yes more suited to games controllers, etc.

From memory the most popular means of controlling a Pi locally is to plug a mouse and keyboard in, maybe Bluetooth types. Other solutions tend to use connection via network, not forgetting the new Connect thingy.

Remember also that others may be travelling the same path as our OP but need other options.

I am not familiar with writing Android Apps, I am a bit familiar with C and writing a simple web server. It isn't rocket science, hence my suggestion. Perhaps the OP is fluent in Android Apps, good. I look forward to seeing the eventual solution outline posted here.

Phew! Tough audience.
