Ah okay, thanks for confirming that those values are indeed specific thresholds that will be negotiated and nothing else.
So next question, the intended use for the pi is to have on desk and use the gpio pins attached to breadboard (learning electronics programming).
Will the gpio pins work in the reduced 5V/3A state that the pi can work in (I believe) or will there be issues.
No usb devices will be attached.
Or am I asking too much and should just stick with the official charger.
