Beginners • Re: Raspberry Pi with Door sensors

Hello,

I’m as beginner as it gets. I’m building a prototype to measure elapsed time from entrance to exit. The entrance has three separate entrance points accessed via a gate, but only one exit. On the gate I’d like to attach a small magnetic door sensor that will trigger when opened. It will be outside so weather is a factor.

Can anyone suggest a good door sensor that really easy to use, low cost, and can easily operate with a Raspberry Pi?
