So the errors that I was seeing were from when I changed from gen 2 to gen 3. It appears that PCIe link initialization does adapt to the pineberry card quite well. Yesterday and today I do not see any correctable/fatal errors. So it appears that my RPI 5 is able to run at gen 3 speeds.
