As are a lot of colleges and 6th form level schools (UK) need MS as they use Access for database learning and development.Perhaps it's not a viable OS for your particular needs, but at the end of the day it's still the world's standard OS. More importantly many packages only run on Windows, there not even being MacOS support. Certainly my industry (professional audio) is totally dependent on Windows at many stages of the production process.I think you may be confusing the attitude on Windows from myself (and potentially others). It's not that I consider Windows not a viable OS for PI. I don't consider it a viable OS. This is from experience of working with Windows and Linux OS's over the years.
There is no online version of that.
I can only assume Access is used as it has every part integrated together so all the basics can be seen in one places. Less cognitive effort.
Again Linux based is still a tiny tiny part of School and World desktop use.
The new ARM version seems quite nice, even a CH340 driver just installed* and worked on these new AI ARM laptops, so ESP32 development keeps on going.
We (well the owner) was sceptical but stuff just works.
* It wasn't in windows update though, but I don't think it is on x86.
