Something is wrong with the Amazon product info. It has 296x128 and then 400 x 300 further down. 296x128 is more likely this kind of display aspect ratio:

Whereas a 4.2 inch 400x300 is more like:

https://www.waveshare.com/4.2inch-e-paper-module.htm

And the resources link does not have Pico.

But a search turns up:

https://www.waveshare.com/pico-epaper-4.2.htm

Now, there is no reason for the e-paper folks to have too many different chips, so _most_likely_ there should be no big problem with using their software resources, because from what I can see the software is designed to drive multiple e-paper boards:

While the product you bought may not have specifically mentioned Pico, I think you should have no problem getting your projects done (eventually). It's all SPI comms anyway. But using their resources will get you to the finish line faster. Now, what you need to do is to contact Waveshare and ask them for guidance. They are responsive to customers.
