Well, I CAN dedicate my Pi4 to RetroPie, but that means running 2 Pi's which means running 2 power cables which means my electrical outlet will look like something from A Christmas Story plugging in the major award.I know that feeling, all that compiling from source, then finding I have to compile a bunch of dependencies before it will work does take up lots of room.Hoping there's an expert out there trying to accomplish the same thing and succeeds because otherwise I'm just junking up my pi with a bunch of stuff that isn't needed
My 256GB SSD with Bullseye filled up, now I have 460GB on Bookworm, 262GB free.
You could get a Pi4 for Retropie, that should work.
The cost of Pi4 compared to the cost of your hours trying to get it working on Pi5 depends on how much you price your hours.
Asa hobby i put learning Linux ahead of playing games.
I have still played way too many hours of Warzone2100.
