Usually the mp (megapixels) refers to the sensor in the camera, not the "lens". The lens is the clear glass (plastic) piece that the light goes through onto the sensor. The difference in the various mp is that a higher mp camera will usually give you finer resolution (more detail) in the image.
Seems tthey are using the focal length 6mm of the lens to suggest it covers 3MP of the sensor (or 10MP for 16mm)
