Isn't that what Raspberry Pi LTD and Broadcom did? They "cramed" all the components of a computer onto a chip (system on a chip) and it was so hot, they had to add a fan?

My point is, if you can intergrate the MVMe drive and PCIe interface onto the mircoSD card why not do it? If samsung believed that they could not overcome the heat issue then they would not be investing their money and resources into developing this product.

The counter argument to that is: what's stopping you developing a PCIe to SD Express HAT+ for the Pi 5?

I'd also argue that a "raw" PCIe connector is of much more us to many more people than routing that single PCIe lane to the uSD slot would be.
